I'm not sure what was going on in Cleveland but maybe some of these crazy guy characters he has been doing lately are starting to 'bleed' through into his personal life!!" Commenter LovebirdsJATE wrote, "I saw this and I just don't know what to think. I don't want to believe it, but how could it not be true? A look a-like? A big hoax???" The reaction tended toward humor on Twitter, where Conan writer Rob Kutner wrote that he told police, "'I had to get back to the Island!'" ("We have to go back!" was a fan-favorite catch-phrase after Fox said in the series' third season finale.) Similarly, Daniel Tuch, a writer's assistant for the USA series Burn Notice tweeted, "Apparently she ignored his plea of 'We have to go back!'" "We hope that, like a good bottle of champagne we have grown better with age but lost none of our sparkle... We fully intend to party like it's 1991," said Saunders. "When we started filming in West London, it was like time had stood still. It was raining. Nevertheless we are so happy to be working for an audience that has grown just a tiny bit older, like us, but is still willing to let us fall over on TV in the name of PR." Added executive producer Jon Plowman, "I can divulge that all of us have got a bit older, though we will be doing our best not to show it, and thankfully none of us have got any wiser. All of the originals who are back together again are still truly absolutely fabulous and we hope that the new adventures of Edina, Patsy, Saffy, Bubble and Mother, plus a few surprising guests, will entertain both our tried and trusted U.S. fans as well as gain us some new friends." The deal to revive the 1990s series was brokered by Jemma Adkins, SVP of TV sales & co-productions fiction at BBC Worldwide America. BBC Worldwide owns global distribution rights to the new specials, which Logo and BBC America will co-produce. Charlie Sheen Teaming With Drew Careys Bruce Helford On Anger Management?
EXCLUSIVE: After a series of meetings with various veteran comedy showrunners, I hear The Drew Carey Show creator Bruce Helford has emerged as a leading candidate to write Anger Management, the Lionsgate TV-produced TV series starring Charlie Sheen. No final decision has been made and Helford is expected to have at least another meeting with the producers but he is considered a strong choice to create a starring vehicle for Sheen having done the same in the past for Carey with ABC’s The Drew Carey Show and George Lopez with the comedian’s eponymous ABC sitcom. He can also handle the accelerated production schedule required by the Debmar-Mercury model having juggled multiple series at the same time. The Debmar-Mercury template calls for quick amassing of syndicatable number of episodes. After taking a short break to focus on his kids, word is that Helford is looking to return to television full-time. On the show, based on the 2003 Jack Nicholson-Adam Sandler movie Anger Management, Sheen will play an updated version of the Nicholsons character, a volatile anger management therapist.

Alexandra Maria Lara Joins Rush
And Daniel Bruhl is set as Niki LaudaEven while he continues to try to find both funding and a home for his huge Dark Tower project, Ron Howard is focusing on other, more manageable movies. He's now moving full speed ahead on racing pic Rush and has just cast German actress Alexandra Maria Lara in the female lead. It's not known exactly whom she'll play in the story, but Lara, who appeared in the likes of Control, Downfall and The Reader, will be starring alongside Thor's Chris Hemsworth and Inglourious Basterds' Daniel Bruhl. Rush focuses on the rivalry that sprang up in the 1970s on the Formula One racing circuit between British champion James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Austrian nemesis Niki Lauda (Bruhl). The competition between the pair became so intense that despite nearly dying in a fierce crash, Lauda returned to the track after just six weeks in hospital to keep up the pressure on Hunt. Peter Morgan, who last worked with Howard on Frost/Nixon, is behind the script and Working Title is backing the film. According to Variety, it doesn't have a distributor just yet. Still, you've got to figure that since Title and Howard's production company Imagine are both based at Universal, the studio will end up nabbing the rights. Yes, even after the whole Dark Tower incident...

Why CinemaScore Matters for Box Office
Every Friday night, foot soldiers for the market research firm CinemaScore descend upon theaters in five or six cities across North America. Bearing small survey cards, they ask moviegoers to assign a letter grade to what they have seen.our editor recommendsBox Office Update: 'The Help' Earns a Rare A+ CinemaScore From Moviegoers15 Movies That Made The Grade: A+ CinemaScore Posse Back in Hollywood, studio executives anxiously await the results, which come in about 11 p.m. PT and serve as a fairly reliable indicator of whether a film will fly or fizzle. "CinemaScore is definitely one of the tools we use to evaluate playability," says Chris Aronson, senior vp domestic distribution at 20th Century Fox, whose Rise of the Planet of the Apes is benefiting from an A- CinemaScore. PHOTOS: 15 Movies That Made The Grade: A+ CinemaScore Posse Surprisingly, given the escalating cost of the theater experience, consumers are fairly forgiving. A majority of films receive a grade in the A- to B- range. C grades are enough to keep most filmmakers awake (though Rango, released in March, did fine after it received a C+), and an F has been given to only five films since Ed Mintz founded the Las Vegas-based firm 29 years ago. In that time, only 52 films have received an A+, including The Help and seven Oscar best picture winners: Gandhi, Driving Miss Daisy, Dances With Wolves, Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, Titanic and The King's Speech. And with notable exceptions (Cinderella Man?), an A+ CinemaScore signals a long, prosperous theatrical run. Help felt the glow right away, opening to a better-than-expected $35.9 million. Says Dave Hollis, executive vp distribution at Disney, which is distributing the film, "The movie is now set up for a great run, with more and more people exposed to it because of the power of word-of-mouth." Milocrorze
An Ishibashi, d-rights, Kazumo production. Produced by Masataka Izumi, Toshiharu Ozawa, Hiroaki Saito. Directed, written, edited by Yoshimasa Ishibashi. With: Takayuki Yamada, Maiko, Anna Ishibashi, Seijun Suzuki, Mieko Harada, Eiji Okuda, Maiko.Helmer Yoshimasa Ishibashi, enfant terrible of commercials and episodic television, here fully bursts into features with "Milocrorze," a splashy, vivid, time- and space-defying romp that loosely ties together three wildly disparate stories that feature several layers of dissonance and discordancy. Pic is featured at two overlapping Gotham fests that cater to such genre-confounding fantasy fare, serving as opener at the N.Y. Asian Film Festival and centerpiece of Japan Cuts. Ishibashi's apparently little-seen first feature, black-and-white "Kurawasetaino," apparently was equally off-the-wall; this one will definitely carve a niche among vid-collectors who love the bizarre. The first (and least) of the segments, recounted like a fractured fairy tale, concerns Ovreneli Vreneligare, a 7-year-old salaryman whose diminutive stature and bright orange bowl-cut hair distinguish him from a sea of gray-garbed fellow-commuters. Encountering a beautiful woman, the "great Milocrorze," (played by the mono-monikered Maiko) on a park bench, he instantly falls smitten, takes on three jobs to afford a big house, and moves in with her in a state of simplistic bliss -- until an age-appropriate problem intervenes. Second up, Besson Kumagai (Takayuki Yamada) counsels teenage boys in the throes of unrequited love. Introduced as a guest on a tawdry TV-show, he disses his gushy host and hangs up on callers. Brash, surly and contemptuous, he treats his clients as "wimps" and worse, while dispensing dubious, chauvinistic or frankly absurd advice. Decked out in a dazzling white suit, flanked by scantily clad women, he not only flouts rules of decorum but also violates physical laws, crossing over the film's split-screen lines or invading the phone booth of the person he's talking to. Part 3 features the pic's piece de resistance, a stylized 12-minute samurai sword fight that crashes through the sliding panels of an endless, sumptuous bordello, sending drinks, blood and women flying high in slo-mo as the hero slashes his way from room to room in search of his lost love. If the second story conflates space, this third story of one-eyed samurai Tamon (Yamada again) makes a hash of time, flashing back from medieval Japan "three years previously" to the present-day where Tamon meets his soulmate Yuri (Anna Ishibashi). After Yuri is abducted, Tamon wanders the streets, his garb growing progressively more ancient until he enters the lawless feudal pleasure city of Tenzaku-Ro in a red kimono, and the action tour-de-force commences. The use of versatile rising star Yamada in all three love-crazed tales (he appears as a grown-up Ovreneli Vreneligare in the film's coda) creates a cockeyed continuum. But the film's true constant lies in its flamboyant Pop-art aesthetic, wild chromatic stylization and cartoon-like manipulation of narrative.Camera (color), Katsuharu Oyamada; music, Yuko Ikoma, Kosuke Shimizu, Osamu Kubota; production designer, Ishibashi; art director, Matsuka Kimura; visual designers; Koichi Emura, Aki Funabiki; action coordinator, Fumihito Minamitsuji. Reviewed at the Japan Society, July 10, 2011. (Also in N.Y. Asian Film Festival, opener.) Running time: 90 MIN. Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com
